When I was a teenager, I had 3 BFFs. They just happened to be members of the same family, 2 brothers and a sister. I moved in with them and their parents when I was 18.

At that point, I started hanging out with their other friends on a regular basis. One of their friends was J. and he was dating my friend Jessica at the time. I was dating B at the time.

Well after B and I broke up, I heard that him and Jessica had broken up at the same time. I thought he was super cute and all, but would never date my friend’s X.

Well one day, Jessica came over and told me that she could tell J thought I was cute, and that I clearly liked him too, so she would set us up. But I told her I couldn’t do that to her, she thought that was silly.

Next thing I know, he was calling me for different things, and we were scheduling youth events, but only if the other was there.

We started dating while I was away working at a summer camp, and it was long distance. Every one kept telling me it wouldn’t last past the summer, because summer romances very rarely do.

We dated for 2 years, and then realized we both had a lot of growing up to do and were in very different places. He was just finished College, and wanting to work on his career, and I hadn’t went to College and really wanted to get married and start a family. We broke up. Although, we were still best friends and hung out all the time when he was home.

After 9 months, we realized we were really still in love, and that eventually we would get married.  I just had to be patient…..well it was 7 more years!  Boy, do I have patience LOL!  We got married on May 31, 2003.

Since getting married, our life has been fairly good although we have had some bad things happen.

One such event was 2005, when we decided to try to have  our first baby.  We got pregnant right away, but miscarried at 9 weeks.  That was a really rough time for us, as no one in our families had ever been through it at that point, so we didn’t know how to handle it, neither did they.  We fought quite a bit at that time, and I wondered if we would get through it.  Well we did, and not 3 months later we were pregnant with Jack.  Since then, 2 more boys would follow.

We will both be 35 this year, and although our life is not exactly as I “saw” it when I was 18, it is an adventure that I am enjoying.  I couldn’t imagine sharing my life with anyone else.

So Thursday night, Jack, hubby and I went to Jack’s school orientation, and he did really well at all the stations except the scissors. We never let him near ours, and hadn’t went and gotten him a pair of his own, yet.

So hubby worked with him, and he was starting to get the hang of it, by the end of the night.

Wednesday I had cut the boys hair, and Jack loves getting his hair cut.

Well this morning, I was having trouble with my laptop and trying to figure out a problem, and getting my iphone up and running. There was a few minutes where I was just engrossed.

I heard Wesley screaming, and I go out and there Jack is holding the hair cutting scissors perfectly, right at Wesley’s head. Thankfully for me, I had cut his hair and it was too short!!

Jack is our 3 1/2 year and our oldest, then there is Wesley who is 2.  They love playing together, most of the time.

Jack knows the rules, and most of the time obeys them.  He feels like Wesley should too, although Wesley doesn’t always understand the rules, or remember them.  I often find Jack yelling at Wesley as to what he should and shouldn’t be doing.

The other day, the boys were playing downstairs, and I always keep an ear out for them. They can’t really get into too much down there, but they do go from loving each other, playing nicely, to all out wars.  So all of a sudden I hear Jack yell “No Wesley, that’s Jack’s!”

I head for the stairs, as I am making my descent, I hear Wes start crying.

As I turn the corner, I see Jack with his hand on Wesley’s arm shoving him on the futon, and saying “Now stay there!  You are in time out!”

The funny thing is, Wesley did just as he was told.  I tried to call him to me, and he didn’t move.  He just looked at Jack and kept crying.

I had to go pick up the kid and take him away.  But I did explain to Jack he doesn’t get to put anyone in time out.

His response was: “Ummm..how about yes time out?”

This weekend was a long weekend here in Canada.  Usually on a long weekend, my hubby has all kinds of jobs he wants to get accomplished, and we do our best to let him get them done.  I don’t know if this one he didn’t have plans, or he just didn’t bother to mention them as it has been a long few weeks around here!   He did get some things done, but we spent a lot of time hanging 0ut as a family.

It was so nice to sit on our deck with the boys playing in the yard, the baby either gooing, or sleeping, and chatting with DH who was laying on our swing, while I was doing some knitting.  It was almost like one of those cheesy hallmark movies.

After Dinner on Sunday and Monday we went for a family walk around the sub-division, and ate some ice cream.  Monday night the boys got ice cream from the ice cream truck, which they thoroughly enjoyed, but is probably not going to be pleasant for me now since they know what that truck is!  They usually just get excited that the truck comes by playing music.

Here is a pic of them eating their ice cream.

Wesley doesn’t like the ice cream so much as it is too cold.  He will take a lick here and there, so hubby kept giving him empty cones to finish eating.  This next pic I think is so cute and so funny all at the same time.  The look on his face as he looks at the empty cone seems to say “HEY! What the heck…where is my ice cream?”  But really hubby just caught him eyeing it for his next bite.

So a pleasant weekend, is setting a good tone for what should be a fun week.

Today, I received a hair clip I won in a give away from Jenni’s Bowtique on facebook.  Although I have 3 boys, I have tons of friends who have girls, so I am going to surprise one of them with it on Thursday!

Wednesday, my in-laws are picking up the older boys to take them back to their place for a sleepover.  They live about 1 1/2 hours from us, so we don’t get to see them nearly as often as we would like.  I am one of the blessed ones who loves their in-laws.  The boys go over and get thoroughly spoiled.  I stay here and enjoy the break, but miss my boys terribly while they are gone.  I think it’s because we are together pretty much 24/7 so when they aren’t here it is quiet and lonely.

Thursday, I will go to my Mommy and Me group with just Justin.  Which pretty much means it will be super easy on me.  Then in the evening my ILs will bring back the boys, and that night is Jack’s orientation for school.  This is a fun thing, but also something that makes me sad.  I am sure you will all hear plenty about this over the next 3-4 months.  Nanny and Papa will be watching the 2 younger ones, so Jack can go with just Mommy and Daddy.  This will be exciting for him, and me.  It will be the first time since Justin was born that I have left him at all, that is if I have any milk for him!

Friday, my friend is coming over with her baby girl, I can’t wait to meet her.  I have been meaning to go over there, but we had chicken pox in the house, and it is also hard getting over there when I have 3 boys.  She wants to get out of the house, and I think also realizes if she ever wants to see me, coming to my house is probably the best idea.

Some time this week, I will hopefully be getting my new iphone!  Which I am way too excited about.  Also, some of the items that I will be doing as reviews and give aways should be coming this week, and I can’t wait to try them out.  Also I can’t wait to be able to post them as giveaways so you can try them.  All of the items are so fun, exciting, and funky!

Ok well this is enough rambling for now.  I have some cleaning and knitting to do while the boys are napping and hubby is on his way home!

So the last few weeks have been a bit rough, with the chicken pox, and then the boys being grouchy. The baby not sleeping all that great, have all taken their toll.

Today, however, was a great day! The weather was gorgeous, and the boys were so good.

We spent the day outside, the boys playing in the back yard, or their kiddie pool. I even went in to show the middle boy what to do, as he doesn’t remember having this before.

We even went for a nice family walk this evening, and had some ice cream after.

We were epecting a rainy miserable day, so it was a pleasant surprise.

I am hoping tomorrow will be more nice weather so we can all hang out outside again.

So our anniversary is coming up soon, and we have been debating as to what we should get each other.

Well we decided we would love to get iphones, but the data plan would be a little out of our budget currently. So while I was meeting with my looming group he called Rogers (our service provider), and finagaled a deal. Basically for $4 more each a month we will have the data plans! There was a little of switch-a-roo going on, and we still have to pay for the phones. If you have rogers and want a good deal, I suggest going through customer rentention. We have been with them for about 10 years, so got a good deal.

I am wondering what apps you think are a must have?

Jack sings this song all the time, and I didn’t know what it was but seemed vaguely familiar:
I hear Lisa ho,
I hear Lisa ho,
I hear Lisa ho,
Diamond in the sky

Here is the real song:
We sail upon the breeze, yo-ho
In a sailboat made of cheese, yo-ho
And go where e’er we please, yo-ho
Pirates in the Sky
